TONGA SOA LODGE is a tribute to Malagasy architecture, in the heart of a one-hectare park including plantations and various tree species (mango trees, soursops, lychees, …).
The house built with noble materials, cut stone, rosewood, rosewood, and traditional roof made with dried leaves, the “ravimpotsy” is composed of two master bedrooms en suite with shower on the ground floor and two bedrooms with shared bathroom on the first floor. The living room, the centerpiece of the house, is an exceptional living space with its cathedral lounge, a billiard table and a terrace.
TONGA SOA LODGE is the ideal home for two families or groups of 4-8 people. It can be fully privatized or rented by room and benefits from hotel services with 24/7 house staff.

After a trek in the Ankarana National Park , a walk in the shade of the trees of the Amber Mountain is a very pleasant change of scenery! The park is made up of a volcanic massif that shelters more than 23,000 hectares of forest, of which 18,000 are designated National Park and can be visited, the rest is designated Special Reserve and is accessible only for scientific missions. Six hiking trails allow visitors to explore the flora and fauna of the park and to see several of its rivers, waterfalls and lakes. After exploring the impressive natural diversity of the park and its surroundings, the return to the lodge allows moments of relaxation on the terrace, and long dinners with Malagasy flavors in our living room.

About Us
In 2004, our father, a cabinetmaker and Swiss architect, in love with nature and beautiful landscapes, traveled to Madagascar and fell in love with the island. After months of research, he decided to buy a plot of land at the foot of the Amber Mountain, the breathtaking view of Diego Bay convinced him, and he built his latest life project there. In parallel with his own construction, he accompanied Mother Charles, then Mother Superior of the neighboring monastery in the construction of her chapel.
For his house, he drew up plans, dug foundations (which made the locals think he was crazy), designed his own furniture and spent 9 years building this off-the-beaten-track project.
Today, we are committed to preserving this place that he loved so much and to sharing it with passing travelers.
